Founder and Strategy Director, Mel Johnstone brings over 30 years’ experience working for and consulting to, a diverse portfolio of clients from world-leading direct wine and subscription companies, to those in healthcare, automotive, retail, banking and insurance industries. Over the last decade, she fell in love with the down-to-earth people, complex projects and ground-breaking opportunities that only the tech sector can bring.
Today, Rocket Science is 100% focused on B2B tech and supports distributors, vendors, channel partners, and independent solution providers to solve gnarly challenges, differentiate in-market and spark interest, engage and win customers, while delivering commercial return on investment.

Mel’s industry leadership has been recognised through her selection as a Finalist in the B&T Marketer of the Year and Strategy categories. She was also awarded the ADMA Australian Young Direct Marketer of the Year in 2002. Beyond her client work, Mel has contributed to industry education through webinars and by teaching the ADMA Data-Driven Marketing course. She also loves to mentor young industry talent.
When she’s not crafting marketing strategies, Mel enjoys staying active, playing the ukulele, singing in a choir, parenting two teenage boys and exploring the stunning South Coast of NSW where she calls home.
